A catalogue can open a relationship.
A communication object expresses a way of seeing the product and people. Even when it seems ordinary.
A sequence of photographs, a description, a price. Useful information. Yet the experience of browsing a catalogue can also convey the meaning of what a business does.
The object begins with an intention
The form of a tool is never entirely neutral. The rhythm of its pages, the space given to images, a carefully chosen word: everything suggests how to look at what is presented. Before designing, we can ask what relationship we want to make possible.
Creativity that grows from context
A catalogue can open like a butterfly: it is an image of what happens when form grows from a product’s identity. Creative intuition reveals something that was already there and invites us to see it differently.
Form is accountable for a promise
Surprise is only one possibility. Some projects call for silence, precision or simplicity. The question is coherence: does what someone feels when looking at the object find confirmation when they meet the business? That question belongs to the work of design too.
